Modularity and Mobility of Distributed Control Software for Networked Mobile Robots

چکیده
The mobile agent computing paradigm has been explored by the research community over recent years; however, little research has been conducted in its use in the development of robot architectures. We have been examining the use of mobile agents as a distributed control paradigm for structuring multiple robot architectures. Although many advantages of mobile agents are claimed in literature, our investigation has systemically examined whether mobile agents are applicable and beneficial in the multiple robot domain. This paper describes our experience with a number of implementations, namely autonomous, telecontrol and AI robot architectures with which we have explored the properties of mobile agent mobility.

Distributed Security Algorithms for Mobile Agents
Mobile agents have been extensively studied for several years by researchers in artificial intelligence and in software engineering. They offer a simple and natural way to describe distributed settings where mobility is inherent and an explicit and direct way to describe the entities of those settings, such as mobile code, software agents, viruses, robots, and Web crawlers. Further, they allow ...
متن کاملDynamical formation control of wheeled mobile robots based on fuzzy logic
In this paper, the important formation control problem of nonholonomic wheeled mobile robots is investigated via a leader-follower strategy. To this end, the dynamics model of the considered wheeled mobile robot is derived using Lagrange equations of motion. Then, using ADAMS multi-body simulation software, the obtained dynamics of the wheeled system in MATLAB software is verified. After that, ...
متن کاملOptimal Load of Flexible Joint Mobile Robots Stability Approach
Optimal load of mobile robots, while carrying a load with predefined motion precision is an important consideration regarding their applications. In this paper a general formulation for finding maximum load carrying capacity of flexible joint mobile manipulators is presented. Meanwhile, overturning stability of the system and precision of the motion on the given end-effector trajectory are take...
متن کاملAutonomous Mobile Networks
Autonomous Mobile Networks are distributed ad-hoc networks of nodes that can sense, actuate, compute and communicate with each other using point-to-point multi-hop communication. The nodes in such networks include static sensors, mobile sensors, robots, and humans. Such systems combine the most advanced concepts in perception, communication and control to create computational systems capable of...
متن کاملSoftware Modularity for Mobile Robotic Applications
This paper reports on ongoing work in the specification and development of a modular software control framework for mobile robots. In order to allow flexibility, a systematic analysis of requirements has been conducted and their consequences on the framework architecture are reported in this paper. We also show that the communication requirements of the framework can be fulfilled by the free CO...
